Navajo Wedding and Ceremonial Basket from the Lukachukai Region

Navajo Ceremonial Basket also called a wedding basket in white, black and red colors, a unique 13 pyramid/point design, tightly woven in the traditional manner with sumac twigs to retain such items as a corn meal porridge consisting of white corn meal symbolizing the male and yellow corn meal the female during Navajo/Dine’ wedding ceremonies. This basket has been used and blessed in a traditional Navajo ceremony.By studying the bassket one can see the traces of the sacret ceremony. Note: this basket is unique, 12 1/4  (31cm) in diameter, 2 1/2" deep (6,3cm).
